am a retired Librarian, born in St.Helens, Lancashire. UK (home
of the famous Rugby League team) and share a quiet retirement
with Kevin,my husband of 45 years. In the early 60's I attended
Cowley Girls' Grammar School, St.Helens where I did better at
art and literature than at maths and sports.
After leaving school, I worked at St. Helens Library until I
married and moved to Wigan.
Some years later, we moved to Leyland, Lancashire, where I worked
as a secretary at an Euxton Primary School before returning
to the library service. This time at Chorley.
Dragon Magic was originally written simply for my young niece,
and her three brothers. I was then urged to publish it, and
am now at quite an advanced stage with a sequel. This will probably
be named Merlin's Magic.
have always been a great reader of fiction of all types and
still read children's books. Many authors, such as: C.S.Lewis,
J.R.Tolkien, E.Nesbit, and Enid Blyton, have influenced my work.
I would like to thank them all. At the moment, my favourite
authors are Lee Child and J K Rowling.
I like pastel painting, particularly portraits and animals,
and have a website designed by Kevin, showcasing my work. As
a keen quilter, I am a member of two local quilting groups and
also a general craft group which meets, appropriately enough,
in Leyland Library. I love animals but only have one pet at
the moment, a rescued black cat named Topsy.
our younger days, Kevin and I were keen caravanners, with a
particular fondness for the West Coast of Scotland and the Isle
of Skye. We much prefer self-drive, rather than 'static', holidays.
More recently, we have visited New York, toured Niagara Falls
and the six States of New England, plus Nevada, Arizona, and
California. (thanks to the generosity of my brother!). We have
also visited Spain and Portugal.
We adore America, and hope that fate will allow us to return
there some day.
